Residential Emergency Home Standby
Residential emergency home standby generators are permanently installed outside your home (similar to an air-conditioning unit), supply electrical power to all pre-selected lights and appliances, and are powered by either natural gas or liquid propane. Models range from 7,000 to 45,000 watts. They work with a matched automatic transfer switch that responds within seconds when utility power shuts down, even when no one is home!

The residential emergency home standby generator is the most powerful, fully automatic, enclosed generator of its size available anywhere. The liquid-cooled models deliver up to 45,000 watts of backup electrical power and the air-cooled models produce up to 15,000 watts. They are quiet, reliable and loaded with special features.

1 The Guardian®'s automatic transfer switch monitors incoming voltage from the utility line
2 When utility power is interrupted, the automatic transfer switch immediately senses the problem and signals the generator to start.
3 The automatic transfer switch then safely closes off the utility line and simultaneously opens a new power line from the generator.
4 When the automatic transfer switch senses the utility line voltage has returned at a steady state, it re-transfers the electrical load back to the utility line and shuts itself down o complete the process.
